New York administers the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE). The UBE enables you to take the exam in New York and transport your score in another state that uses the UBE. You will still need to meet that state's other admission requirements. New Jersey and Massachusetts (July 2018) are also UBE states.

In addition to the UBE, New York also requires the following which may be completed during Law School:
- New York Law Course (NYLC)
- New York Law Examination (NYLE)
- Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) - may be taken during Law School but required passing score of 85 is only good for three (3) years.
- 50 hours of pro bono law-related work

The New York Law Course (NYLC)
On-line New York Law course. You must complete it thirty (30) days prior to the New York Law Examination (NYLE), by the registration deadline below. Each segment is fifteen to eighteen minutes followed by an embedded question. You can do it on a computer or i-Pad, but not a phone.
